Music festivals are great aren’t they? You know Summer is here when the festivals begin and if you’re anything like me you’re itching to get to one. Then, just as you’re wondering what to wear it hits you - the weather. Somehow the idea of standing in the rain and then sleeping in a damp and soggy tent doesn’t seem quite so appealing.
Thankfully there is an alternative. What if you could enjoy the music and the fun without the rain and maybe even come home with a tan? Well now you can.
While Britain is home to some fantastic festivals, the rest of Europe is playing it at its own game. There are plenty of festivals throughout Europe featuring some of the greatest bands on the planet and one of the best is the Benicassim in Spain.
Previous line-ups have included some of the biggest names in music including Babyshambles, The Pixies and Oasis and this years looks set to be just as good. Look out for performances by the likes of Iggy & the Stooges, Arctic Monkeys, The Hives and The Magic Numbers.
The festival is in its 13th year. It is held in the port town of Benicassim in the province of Castello.
And the best bit? You’ll get to chill out to your favourite acts in sunny weather. Imagine cold beers, hot sun and live music, what more could you want.
