When Larry Hughes’ brother died during the playoffs last year, people were sad and shocked. Everyone knew that Larry would have to take some time off and to reflect on what has happened. Justin, Larry’s brother, was close and a good friend to Larry. Larry was forced to make many decisions based on how his brother was, like his decision to try for the NBA ranks. No one knew that the entire Cavs team would pay their respects too!
The Cavs team shares a motto, all for one, one for all. This motto has led to weird acts, such as team breads. The Cavs team stresses this because they know that this keeps the team together. Without team work, no one will achieve anything. Lebron James was indeed, the star of the team, but he needs to help of the people around him as well. The Cavs team showed, and did what they had too. They did not know Justin too well but had a strong relationship with Larry. They needed his play during their series against the Pistons, but he was no a no go. This shows that if something happened, the whole team would be there to help out. This is what a real team is. A team does not ignore what has happened, rather they help.
There was an article about this in the NY post, stating the true heart of the team. In fact, this is how everyone in the NBA should act. The NBA is not about just playing and winning games. When you step on the court, you are playing with the rest of your team. Each member is important and can help out. Players should be respected, kind and helpful to everyone, no matter who they are.
